Motivating Thoughts and Songs

The quotes below are by my Weight Watcher's leader, Marianne, said during meetings.

Here is my Victoria's Secret Blue Bikini in the cup holder of my treadmill to provide me with constant motivation.

  • “Nothing tastes as good, as being thin feels.”
  • “You are stronger than you think.”
  • “You’re worth it.”
  • “Just STOP!”
  • “Wait 20 minutes before going back for seconds to see if you are really hungry.”
  • “You can always go back and get more food if you’re hungry.”
  • “Food will always be there.”
  • “The Entenmann’s Doughnut will always be there, it’s not like Entenmann’s is going out of business.”
  • “I’ve put the Fat Chapter of my life to rest.”
  • “Put your fork down every bite so you eat slower.”
  • “Hold a baby, you'll be less likely to eat.”
  • “It's just food people!"
  • If I always do what I always did, then I'll always get what I always got.”
  • If you don't start, you won't have to stop.”
  • Think THIN.”
  • One day at a time, no guilt, and move on
  • “If you bite it, write it!”
  • “You didn’t get here (at Weight Watchers) because you ate, you are here because you OVERate.”
  • “It’s all about survival.”
  • “It’s all about change.  Change is a good thing.  We should all welcome Change.”
  • “This Key Chain is a symbol of how hard you worked to lose your 10%. If at any time, you feel that you can’t make it or it gets tough, I want you to take this Key Chain out and hold it. Remember how far you’ve come. You are stronger than you think.”  -- said to me when I reached my first ten percent

Other Inspirational Words and Poems

I found these words and poems on several different websites.  None of them have authors to them, but I’ve found them VERY inspiring and true to form.  Enjoy.

I Own my Body

I am responsible for what goes into it.

That includes my mouth, my lungs, my eyes, my ears, my heart and my mind.

It means that I take responsibility for the nutritional choices that I make.

I do not blame anyone or anything for poor choices.

I own my body, I make the choice in what condition to keep it.

I can keep it in mint condition or I can slack off and let it fall apart.

I am responsible for getting out of bed in the morning with an open heart and positive mindset.

I remove myself from situations I deem negative or destructive to my spirit.

I cultivate from within and force myself to face challenges.

I am responsible for myself because if I am not, no one else will be.

Loving and accepting myself is the first step on the path to enlightened happiness.

I love myself regardless of the choices I make, for every poor choice has a lesson to be learned.

Only One Pound

Hello, do you know me?

If you don't you should.

I'm a pound of fat,

and I'm the happiest pound of fat

that you would ever want to meet.

Want to know why?

It's because no one ever wants to lose me;

I'm Only One Pound, just a pound.

Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds,

but never only one,

so I just stick around and happily keep you fat.

Then I add to myself ever so slyly

so that you never seem to notice it,

that is until I've grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight.

Yes, it's fun being Only One Pound of fat,

left to do as I please.

So, when you weigh in,

keep right on saying

"Oh, I only lost one pound."

(as if that were such a terrible thing!)

For you see,

if you do this

you'll encourage others to keep me around

because they will think I'm not worth losing.

And I love being around you

your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.

Happy Days!!

After all,

I'm Only One Pound of fat!!!

Weight Watcher Prayer

The Program is my Shepherd,

I shall not want.

It prevents me from lying down on the sofa

and leads me to a sweaty aerobics class.

It restores my favorite tight jeans.

It guides me down the path

of slimness for its namesake.

Even though I walk through

the valley of red light food,

I will fear no restaurant.

For you are with me,

your Leaders and your Staff,

they will comfort me.

You prepare a table before me

in the presence of balanced meals.

You anoint my bread with pure virgin olive oil

and my bladder runneth over with H20.

Surely goodness and confidence

will follow me all the days of my life.

And I will dwell in the meetings

once a week forever and ever.

One Day At A Time

Whatever the goal we're pursuing,

no matter how rugged the climb,

we're certain to get there

by trying our best,

and taking One Day At A Time

ABC's to Success

Acknowledge that you know what to do

Believe that you have the ability to do it

Courage to do what needs to be done

Deciding that today is the day

Enjoying the journey

Forgiving yourself and moving on

Going for the goal

Hearing the compliments

Inviting success into your life

Journaling everything that goes into your mouth

Keep coming to WW when you feel like quitting

Loving yourself enough to change your lifestyle

Making delicious meals

Not ever giving up on yourself

Offer to share your new knowledge with others

Patience with the journey...the weight did not come on overnight

Quiet time for yourself

Remind yourself all of the reasons you are doing this

Self-talk that is positive and repetitive

Turning to solutions instead of food for "problems"

Using all of your "tools" for success

Visiting other meetings during the week if you need support

Wanting success with your weight loss more than you want that "treat"

Xerox copies of your favorite recipes

You alone can do this, but you don't have to do it alone

Zero in on your goals and move toward them one pound at a time

'Twas the Night Before Christmas - Dieters Version

Twas the night before Christmas and all round my hips

Were Fannie May candies that sneaked past my lips?

Fudge brownies were stored in the freezer with care

In hopes that my thighs would forget they were there.

Mama in her girdle and I in chin straps

Had just settled down to sugar-borne naps.

When out in the pantry there arose such a clatter

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the kitchen I flew like a flash

Tore open the icebox, knocked over the trash.

The marshmallows look of the new fallen snow

Sent thoughts of a binge to my body below.

When what to my wandering eyes should appear:

But a marzipan Santa with eight chocolate reindeer!

That huge chunk of candy so luscious and slick

I knew in a second I'd wind up being sick.

The sweet-coated Santa, those sugared reindeer

I closed my eyes tightly but still I could hear;

"On Pritzker, on Stillman, on weak one, on TOPS.

A Weight Watchers dropout from sugar detox.

From the top of the scales to the top of the hall

Now dash away pounds now dash away all."

Dressed up in Lane Bryant from my head to nightdress

My clothes were all bulging from too much excess.

My droll little mouth and my round little belly

They shook when I laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

I spoke not a word but went straight to my work

Ate all of the candy then turned with a jerk.

And laying a finger beside my heartburn

I gave a quick nod toward the bedroom I turned.

I eased into bed, to the heavens I cried

"If temptation's removed I'll get thin by and by."

And I mumbled again as I turned in for the night

"In the morning I'll starve...'til I take that first bite!"

If Life is a Game, These are the Rules

The body you are given

will be yours

for the duration of your time here.

Love it or hate it,

accept it or reject it,

it is the only one you will receive in this lifetime.

It will be with you

from the minute you draw your first breath

to the last beat of your heart.

Since there is a no-refund,

no-exchange policy on this body of yours,

it is essential that you learn to transform your body from a mere vessel

into a beloved partner

and lifelong ally,

as the relationship

between you and your body

is the most fundamental

and important relationship

of your lifetime.

It is the blueprint

from which all your other relationships will be built."

Don't Quit

When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.

When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.

So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!

It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.

It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."

It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.

To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
if you summon the will to get back in the race.

But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.

And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.

Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.

When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!

10 Weight-Loss Myths: Don't Be Fooled!

By Susan Woodward for MSN Health & Fitness

Read Original Article from MSN Health here:
http://health.msn.com/guides/weightloss/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100097046

When does a lie become an accepted truth? When the lie is repeated often enough.

It’s the oldest trick in the book, a favorite ploy of politicians and others who stand to gain, but still we fall for it.

Especially when it comes to losing weight.

The diet industry is riddled with self-perpetuating myths, misconceptions, and downright mistruths, sighs psychologist Jeffrey Wilbert, Ph.D., author of Fattitudes.

“The strategy is to market fringe products and miracle cures that are very seductive in what they promise,” Wilbert explains, noting the billions of dollars the diet industry spends on consumer advertising. “Very few people are successful [at losing weight], but the promise gets into our subconscious and stays there.”

The antidote, says Wilbert, is for consumers to educate themselves from reputable sources with reliable data. We start the process by smashing 10 of the most common weight-loss lies right here.

1. “Lose 30 pounds in 30 days.” Or any other gimmick that pledges massive weight loss at breakneck speed. “It’s not healthy, and it’s not true,” Wilbert says. Permanent weight loss requires lifestyle change, not a quick fix, he adds.

2. Fat is bad for you. “Dietitians forwarded that one to people for years,” says registered dietitian and nutrition teacher Rick Hall. Now they know better. The truth is that some fats are unhealthy, and some are good – indeed, necessary – for your health. (Hence the term, “essential fatty acids”!)

3. Carbohydrates are bad for you. First it was fat, now carbohydrates are the bad guy. Wilbert explains that this trendy idea is just too broad. When trying to lose weight, make a distinction between unhealthy carbohydrates, such as white sugar, and complex carbohydrates, such as vegetables and whole grains, which provide vital vitamins, and fiber to aid digestion.

4. Lose weight by not eating. Uh…no. Starving deprives the body of the nutrients it needs for life and can lead to serious illness. Plus you lose muscle mass, not fat. Even if you do lose pounds, you gain them back almost immediately when you raid the fridge again.

5. Don’t eat after 6 p.m. “It’s not what time you eat, it’s what you eat!” insists Dare to Lose author, Shari Lieberman, Ph.D. “In Europe they eat at 10 o’clock at night and they’re half the size of Americans.”

6. Salad bars are healthy. Bacon, cheeses, fried chicken, oily dressings…The apparent allure of salad bars means they probably require as much of your considered attention as ordering at a fast food restaurant. “You have to choose the foods at a salad bar wisely,” Lieberman reminds people.

7. Diet sodas aid weight loss. This is one of Lieberman’s favorite pieces of diet-industry hype. “There isn’t a single study that shows diet sodas help you lose weight. There’s absolutely no data on that at all,” she claims.

8. You shouldn’t step on a scale. “It’s another misconception that dietitians have passed on,” says Hall. “I completely disagree with it.” He says checking your weight on a regular basis, say once or twice a week, is an obvious way to gauge your progress and alter your diet accordingly. However, Lieberman notes that scales in and of themselves, well, suck. She encourages people to keep track of hip, thigh and tummy inches, too.

9. You can lose weight with a pill. “You can’t replace healthy eating and exercise with a pill,” Hall warns. “Pills aren’t a new thing, they’ve been tried for decades…[with] horrible side effects.”

10. You have to join the gym. Actually, the most recent research indicates 30 to 60 minutes per day of moderate physical activity is all it takes to balance healthy food intake. It doesn’t have to be strenuous exercise, “just move your body!” exclaims Hall.

10 Ways to Avoid Holiday Weight Gain

Posted by Joy Bauer, M.S., R.D., C.D.N  on Fri, Dec 01, 2006, 6:44 pm PST
Read Original Article from Yahoo! Health here
http://health.yahoo.com/experts/joybauernutrition/6097/10-ways-to-avoid-holiday-weight-gain

Enjoy the holiday spirit without wrecking havoc on your waistline. Wishing you a healthy and happy holiday!

1. Exercise religiously
Regular physical activity throughout the holiday season will burn calories, tone your body and empower you to make smart food choices. Aim for 5 days each week and at least 30 minutes per session.

2. Recycle edible gifts
If you're watching your weight and can't resist the temptation of decadent sweet treats in the house, send them off! Recycle fruit cakes, date breads, chocolates and homemade cookies. You'll save your body thousands of unnecessary calories (and the generous gift giver will never know).

Tips for managing holiday parties

3. Never go to a party hungry
Eat something that will take the edge off your hunger and keep blood sugar levels steady -- you'll have better resolve at the party. The perfect pre-party snack should combine high quality, complex carbs with protein.
Three examples (each approximately 200 calories):
• Apple + 8 ounces nonfat plain or flavored yogurt
• One cup of lentil or bean soup
• 2 ounces turkey or ham piled on one slice whole wheat bread with lettuce, tomato and mustard

4. Wear something fabulous and fitted
You're less apt to eat when you feel good about how you look (and of course, your clothing is snug).

5. Hang out with the talkers vs. the eaters
Eating is contagious. You don't want to surround yourself with people pigging out. Remember that a festive party is about great conversation and holiday spirit - not just food.

6. Easy on the hors d'oeuvres
Don't use up your calories at the beginning of a party. Select THREE of anything you want... and after that, stick with less caloric pickings (cold or grilled shrimp, chicken on a skewer, and crudités)

7. Load your plate with the right stuff
Fill half your plate with vegetables and divide the rest between protein and starch.

8. Eat slowly
Nutrition scientists at the University of Rhode Island recently found that slow eaters take in fewer calories at a meal than people who eat quickly.

9. Be selective with splurges - decide which special foods you really want and enjoy them. Go out of your way to skip the rest.

10. Alternate alcoholic drinks with club soda
Alcohol contains many calories, and also stimulates your appetite and reduces your willpower. If booze is a must, cut the calories in half and have more control over your food and actions by alternating each drink with a seltzer or mineral water (add a twist of lime or lemon).

Motivational Music

I’ve found some musical lyrics to be the most inspirational things ever written.  So, here are a bunch of songs by popular artists that I find to be MOST inspirational to listen to on the treadmill and to read when I need a push.  Because whether it’s about Life, Love, Relationships, Work or whatever you need motivation in, these songs for me, definitely help me tremendously.

Bounce by Bon Jovi

Counted out 6, 7, 8, 9

Written off like some bad deal

[Chorus:]

Bounce, Bounce Stand up, shout it out

Bounce, Bounce I play hard, I play to win

I'll be bouncing back again

This ain't no game; I play it hard

Kicked around, cut, stitched and scarred

I'll take the hit but not the fall

I know no fear, still standing tall

You can call it karma, call it luck

Me, I just don't give a

Have A Nice Day by Bon Jovi
Why, you wanna tell me how to live my life?

Who, are you to tell me if it’s black or white?

Mama, can you hear me? Try to understand.

Is innocence the difference between a boy and a man.

My daddy lived the lie, it’s just the price that he paid.

Sacrificed his life, just slavin’ away.

Ohhh, if there’s one thing I hang onto,

It gets me through the night.

I aint gonna do what I don’t want to,

I’m gonna live my life.

Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice,

Standing on the ledge, show the wind how to fly.

When the world gets in my face,

I say, Have A Nice Day.

Have A Nice Day

Take a look around you, look its what he sees.

We’re living in a broken home of hopes and dreams,

Let me be the first to shake a helping hand.

Everybody, pray enough to take a stand,

I knocked on every door, on every dead end street,

Looking for forgiveness,

what’s left to believe?

Ohhh, if there’s one thing I hang onto,

It gets me through the night.

I aint gonna do what I don’t want to,

I’m gonna live my life.

Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice,

Standing on the ledge, show the wind how to fly.

When the world gets in my face,

I say, Have A Nice Day.

Have A Nice Day.

[Guitar Solo]

Ohhh, if there’s one thing I hang onto,

It gets me through the night.

I aint gonna do what I don’t want to,

Im gonna live my life.

Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice,

Standing on the ledge, show the wind how to fly.

When the world gets in my face,

I say, Have A Nice Day.

Have A Nice Day.

Have A Nice Day.

Have A Nice Day.

Have A Nice Day.

When The world keeps trying, to drag me down,

Ive gotta raise my hands, gonna stand my ground.

Well I say, Have A Nice Day.

Have A Nice Day

Have A Nice Day

I Won’t Back Down by Tom Petty

Well I won't back down

No I won't back down

You could stand me up at the gates of Hell

But I won't back down

No I'll stand my ground

Won't be turned around

And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down

Gonna stand my ground

And I won't back down.

Hey, baby.  There ain't no easy way out.

Hey yeah, I will stand my ground.

And I won't back down.

Well I know what's right

I got just one life

In a world that keeps on pushin' me around

But I'll stand my ground

And I won't back down.

Hey, baby.  There ain't no easy way out.

Hey yeah, I will stand my ground.

And I won't back down.

Hey, baby.  There ain't no easy way out.

Hey yeah, I won't back down

Hey, baby.  There ain't no easy way out.

Hey yeah, I will stand my ground

And I won't back down.

(This Is) A Song For The Lonely by Cher (because this was used in the old Weight Watchers commercials when I started WW again in 2005)

When you’re standing on the edge of no where

There’s only one way up so your hearts got to go there

Through the darkest nights

You see the light shine bright

When heroes fall in love or war they live forever

(chorus)

This is a song for the lonely, can you hear me tonight?

For the broken hearted, battle scarred

Ill be by your side

And this is a song for the lonely

When your dreams wont come true

Can you hear this prayer

Because someone’s there for you

Though love don’t need a reason

She can pick you up or leave you bleeding

Ive seen a strong man cry

I know the reason why

We all forgive, we all forget

We just keep believing

(chorus)

This is a song for the lonely, can you hear me tonight?

For the broken hearted, battle scarred

Ill be by your side

And this is a song for the lonely

When your dreams wont come true

Can you hear this prayer

Because someone’s there for you

Dont give up, so let it find you

Just hold on, wherever you may go

Anywhere, I’m right beside you

You don’t have to look no more

You don’t have to look no more

(chorus)

This is a song for the lonely, can you hear me tonight?

For the broken hearted, battle scarred

Ill be by your side

And this is a song for the lonely

When your dreams wont come true

Can you hear this prayer

Because someone’s there for you

Its gonna be alright

Its gonna be alright

Its gonna be alright

Chorus

(repeat/mix a few times)

I Believe by Bon Jovi

All I know is what I've been sold

You can read my life like a fortune told

I've seen the dream, there's no land of Oz

But I got my brain and I got a heart

And courage built I won't let go

What we need right now is ....soul

I can't do this, you can't do that

They feed us lines but I won't act

And all good things will come to pass

But the truth is all you have to have

And would you lie for it?

(Do you) cry for it?

(Would you) die for it?

Would you

I believe, I believe

With every breath that I breathe

You and me can turn a whisper to a scream

I believe, I believe

You know what you came here for

You'll pay the cost,

like it's your cross to bear

Are we the ones that put it there

Would you scheme for it

scream for it, bleed for it

Would you

I believe, I believe

Believe we're still worth

The fight you'll see

There's no hope for this world tonight

I believe, I believe

Don't look up on your movie screens

In record stores or magazines

Close your eyes and you will see

That you are all you really need

I believe, I believe

With every breath that I breathe

You and me can turn a

whisper to a scream

I believe, I believe

Something More by Sugarland

Monday, hard to wake up

Fill my coffee cup, I'm out the door

Yeah, the freeway's standing still today

It's gonna make me late, and thats for sure

I'm running out of gas and out of time

Never gonna make it there by nine

Chorus:

There's gotta be something more

Gotta be more than this

I need a little less hard time

I need a little more bliss

I'm gonna take my chances

Taking a chance I might

Find what I'm looking for

There's gotta be something more

Five years and there's no doubt

That I'm burnt out, I've had enough

So now boss man, here's my two weeks

I'll make it short and sweet, so listen up

I could work my life away, but why?

I got things to do before die

Repeat Chorus

There's gotta be something more

Gotta be more than this

I need a little less hard time

I need a little more bliss

I'm gonna take my chances

Taking a chance I might

Find what I'm looking for

There's gotta be something more

Some believe in destiny, and some believe in fate

I believe that happiness is something we create

You best believe that I'm not gonna wait

'Cause there's gotta be something more

I get home 7:30 the house is dirty, but it can wait

Yeah, 'cause right now I need some downtime

To drink some red wine and celebrate

Armageddon could be knocking at my door

but I ain't gonna answer that’s for sure.

There's gotta be something more!

There's gotta be something more

Gotta be more than this

I need a little less hard time

I need a little more bliss

I'm gonna take my chances

Taking a chance I might

Find what I'm looking for

There's gotta be something more

Baby Girl by Sugarland

They say in this town, stars stay up all night,

Don’t know, can’t see ‘em for the glow of the neon lights.

And it's a long way from here to the place where the home fires burn.

Well it's two thousand miles and one left turn.

"Dear Mom and Dad,

"Please send money, I’m so broke that it ain’t funny.

"I don't need much, just enough to get me through.

"Please don’t worry 'cause I'm all right,

I’m playin’ here at the bar tonight.

This time, I’m gonna make our dreams come true.

"Well, I love you more than anything in the world...

Love,

Your baby girl."

Black top, blue sky, big town full of little white lies.

Well, everybody’s your friend: you can never be sure.

They'll promise fancy cars and diamond rings, all sorts of shiny things,

But, girl, you’ll remember what your knees are for.

I know that I’m on my way.

I can tell every time I play.

And I know it’s worth all the dues I pay,

When I can write to you and say...

"Dear Mom and Dad,

"I’ll send money. I’m so rich that it ain’t funny.

It oughtta be more than enough to get you through.

"Please don’t worry 'cause I’m all right,

I’m stayin’ here at the Ritz tonight

"Whaddya know, we made our dreams come true.

"And there are fancy cars and diamond rings,

"But you know that they don't mean a thing.

They all add up to nothin' compared to you.

"Well, remember me in ribbons an' curls.

"I still love you more than anything in the world...

"Love,

"Your baby girl."

Ah yeah.

Your baby girl.

("Dear Mom and Dad,

("Please send money, I’m so broke that it ain’t funny.)

("Don't need much, just enough to get me through.)

Your baby girl.

("Please don’t worry 'cause I'm all right,

Playin’ here at the bar tonight.

Ooh, ooh, ooh.)

Dreams come true.

Cup Of Life by Ricky Martin

The Cup of Life

This is the one

Now is the time

Don't even stop

Push it along

Gotta be strong

Push it along

Right to the top

The feelin' in your soul

Is gonna take control

Nothing can hold you back

If you really want it

I se it in your eyes

You want the cup of life

Now that the day is here

Gotta go and get it

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Chorus 1

Here we go! Olé, Olé, Olé!

Go, go, go! Olé, Olé, Olé!

Tonight's the night we're gonna celebrate

The cup of life... the world is ours today!

The cup of life

It's do or die

It's here it's now

Turn up the lights

Push it along

Then let it roll

Push it along

Go! Go! Goal!

And when you feel that heat

The world is at your feet

No one can hold you down

If you really want it

Just steal your destiny

Right from the hands of fate

Reach for the cup of life

Cause your name is on it

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Chorus 2

Here we go! Olé, Olé, Olé!

Go, go, go! Olé, Olé, Olé!

Tonight's the night we're gonna celebrate

The cup of life... the world is ours today!

The feelin' in your soul

Is gonna take control

Nothing can hold you back

If you really want it

I see it in your eyes

You want the cup of life

Now that the day is here

Were gonna go and get it

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Do you really want it ... (Yeah!)

Chorus 3

Here we go! Olé, Olé, Olé!

Go, go, go! Olé, Olé, Olé!

Tonight's the night we're gonna celebrate

The cup of life.. the world is ours today!

Un, Dos, Tres... Olé, Olé, Olé!

Un, Deux, Trois... Olé, Olé, Olé!

Tonight's the night we're gonna celebrate

The cup of life... the world is ours today!

Shake It Off by Mariah Carey

I gotta shake you off

Cause the loving ain’t the same

And you keep on playing games

Like you know I’m here to stay

I gotta shake it off

Just like the Calgon commercial

I really gotta get up outta here

And go somewhere

I gotta shake you off

Gotta make that move

Find somebody who

Appreciates all the love I give

Boy I gotta shake it off

Gotta do what’s best for me

Baby and that means I gotta

Shake you off

By the time you get this message

It’s gonna be too late

So don’t bother paging me

'Cause I’ll be on my way

See I grabbed all my diamonds and clothes

Just ask your momma, she knows

You’re gonna miss me baby

Hate to say “I told you so”

Well at first I didn’t know

But now it’s clear to me

You would cheat with all your freaks

And lie compulsively

So I packed up my Louis Vuitton

Jumped in your ride and took off

You’ll never ever find a girl

Who loves you more than me

I gotta shake you off

Cause the loving ain’t the same

And you keep on playing games

Like you know I’m here to stay

I gotta shake it off

Just like the Calgon commercial

I really gotta get up outta here

And go somewhere

I gotta shake you off

Gotta make that move

Find somebody who

Appreciates all the love I give

Boy I gotta shake it off

Gotta do what’s best for me

Baby and that means I gotta

Shake you off

I gotta shake, shake, shake, shake, shake it

Off…

I found out about a gang

Of your dirty little deeds

With this one and that one

By the pool, on the beach, in the streets

Heard y’all was

Hold up my phone’s breakin’ up

I’ma hang up and call the machine right back

I gotta get this off of my mind

You wasn’t worth my time

So I’m leaving you behind

'Cause I need a real love in my life

Save this recording because

I’m never coming back home

Baby I’m gone

Don’t cha know

I gotta shake you off

Cause the loving ain’t the same

And you keep on playing games

Like you know I’m here to stay

I gotta shake it off

Just like the Calgon commercial

I really gotta get up outta here

And go somewhere

I gotta shake you off

Gotta make that move

Find somebody who

Appreciated all the love I give

Boy I gotta shake it off

Gotta do what’s best for me

Baby and that means I gotta

Shake you off

I gotta shake you off

Cause the loving ain't the same

And you keep on playing games

Like you know I'm here to stay

I gotta shake it off

Just like the calgon commercial

I really gotta get up outta here

And go somewhere

I gotta shake you off

Gotta make that move

Find somebody who

Appreciate's all the love i give

And boy I gotta shake you off

Gotta do whats best for me

Baby and that means I gotta

Shake you off

(I gotta shake you off)

ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Livin’ On A Prayer by Bon Jovi

Once upon a time

Not so long ago

Tommy used to work on the docks

Union's been on strike

He's down on his luck...it's tough, so tough

Gina works the diner all day

Working for her man, she brings home her pay

For love - for love

She says we've got to hold on to what we've got

'Cause it doesn't make a difference

If we make it or not

We've got each other and that's a lot

For love - we'll give it a shot

[Chorus:]
Whooah, we're half way there

Livin' on a prayer

Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear

Livin' on a prayer

Tommy's got his six string in hock

Now he's holding in what he used

To make it talk - so tough, it's tough

Gina dreams of running away

When she cries in the night

Tommy whispers baby it's okay, someday

We've got to hold on to what we've got

'Cause it doesn't make a difference

If we make it or not

We've got each other and that's a lot

For love - we'll give it a shot

[Chorus]

Whooah, we're half way there

Livin' on a prayer

Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear

Livin' on a prayer

We've got to hold on ready or not

You live for the fight when it's all that you've got

[Chorus]

Whooah, we're half way there

Livin' on a prayer

Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear

Livin' on a prayer

Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield

I am unwritten,

Can't read my mind

I'm undefined

I'm just beginning

The pen's in my hand

Ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you

Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words

That you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance

So close you can almost taste it

Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

The rest is still unwritten ,yeah

Oh, oh

I break tradition

Sometimes my tries

Are outside the lines, oh yeah

We've been conditioned

To not make mistakes

But I can't live that way oh, oh

Staring at the blank page before you

Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words

That you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance

So close you can almost taste it

Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips x2 (twice)

drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

The rest is still unwritten

Staring at the blank page before you

Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words

That you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance

So close you can almost taste it

Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

drench yourself in words unspoken

Live you life with arms wide open

Today is where you book begins

The rest is still unwritten

The rest is still unwritten

(YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!)

Flashdance…What A Feeling by Irene Cara

First when there's nothing

But a slow glowing dream

That your fear seems to hide

deep inside your mind

All alone I have cried

Silent tears full of pride

In a world made of steel

Made of stone

Well, I hear the music

Close my eyes

Feel the rhythm

Wrap around

Take a hold of my heart

What a feeling

Bein's believin'

I can have it all

Now I'm dancing for my life

Take your passion

And make it happen

Pictures come alive

You can dance right through your life

[Instrumental Interlude]

Now I hear the music

Close my eyes

I am rhythm

In a flash

It takes hold of my heart

What a feeling

Bein's believin'

I can have it all

Now I'm dancing for my life

Take your passion

And make it happen

Pictures come alive

Now I'm dancing through my life

What a feeling

What a feeling

(I am music now)

Bein's believin'

(I am rhythm now)

Pictures come alive

You can dance right through your life

What a feeling

(You can really have it all)

What a feeling

(Pictures come alive when I call)

I can have it all

(I can really have it all)

Have it all

(Pictures come alive when I call)

(Call, call, call, call)

(What a feeling)

I can have it all

(Bein's Believin')

Bein's believin'

(Take your passion)

(Make it happen)

Make it happen

(What a feeling)

What a feeling

(Bein's believin')
